Why is it a good idea to participate in our activities?
Our sociocultural activities are an essential and complementary part of the our Spanish language and other languages courses at Alicante University. These activities complement language studies and are designed to help students integrate into a multicultural environment with Spanish and international students, facilitating their adaptation and participation in university and social life. Types of activities
The sociocultural activities for international students offered by our Language Centre are designed to promote integration, cultural exchange and personal development beyond the academic sphere. They seek to help students adapt to a new environment, practise the local language and establish social networks.
CULTURAL TRIPS
Granada, Barcelona, Salamanca, Seville, Toledo and Madrid
Cultural trips around Spain enable students to immerse themselves in the language in real contexts, and improve their fluency and oral comprehension by interacting with native speakers. They also allow a deep cultural immersion since students can participate in activities such as museum visits, festivals, exploring historic cities, sampling local cuisine and experiencing Spanish customs and art in a hands-on way.

WATER ACTIVITIES
Introductory scuba diving, snorkelling in Tabarca, windsurfing, sailing and other water sports.
Activities programme designed in a way that students can enjoy different experiences at various points in the Alicante region in small groups. These activities provide a real and relaxing setting where students must communicate in Spanish with Spanish-speaking instructors and classmates to be able to coordinate with them, understand instructions and socialise. This encourages a natural use of the language outside the classroom in a fun and relaxing atmosphere and helps overcome the fear of making mistakes, since the main focus is the activities themselves and enjoying them.

LANGUAGE EXCHANGE
With Spanish and international students, in Spanish, English, French and Japanese.
This activity offers great benefits for students of Spanish and other languages, such as improving fluency and pronunciation improvement by practising with native speakers in a real setting. It also fosters personal growth and confidence, develops interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and enables a better understanding of the Spanish-speaking culture, including idioms and colloquial expressions.

CULTURAL EXCURSIONS
Landmarks in the province of Alicante and neighbouring provinces. Altea, Benidorm, Calpe, Villajoyosa, Guadalest, Fuentes del Algar, Valencia, Cartagena, Murcia.
Cultural excursions provide an opportunity to use Spanish naturally in everyday situations, reinforcing what has been learnt in the classroom and making the learning process more memorable and relevant. They also enable international students to listen to and speak Spanish with native speakers, which helps them to better understand the accent, vocabulary and local expressions. These excursions also allow immersion in the history, art and traditions of the province of Alicante and its surroundings, which facilitates a deeper understanding of Spanish culture and society.

EDUCATIONAL VISITS IN THE CITY OF ALICANTE

Alicante offers numerous options for indoor and outdoor educational visits to monuments, museums, exhibitions and events, many of which count with specific programmes for educational centres that can be adapted to students of Spanish as a foreign language. These leisure activities offer a combination of adventure, language immersion and socialisation for language students. They allow students to practise the language (mainly Spanish, but sometimes other languages) in a real and relaxing context, outside the classroom.
