The students with a passport from a different country that not belongs to the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland must ask for a student visa in the Spanish Consulate at your home country.

Upon arrival at the University of Alicante, and depending on the visa obtained, you will have to carry out these procedures during the first month of your arrival if you are going to spend more than 6 months in Spain. I will have to carry out some procedures or not:

- There is no need to do additional paperwork if I have a 180 day-visa and it is the period that I will be in Spain; my NIE number (Foreigner Identity Number) is printed on the visa.
- If I have a 90-day visa and I will be spending more time in Spain:  you must put your fingerprints to obtain a card (TIE) in the Police Station during the first month at your arrival. In this case I will get a Foreign Student Card from the Police in Spain. More info here

1. Place to get the appointment; https://icp.administracionelectronica.gob.es/icpco/ you must select: Provincia: Oficina: CNP Alicante TIE Campo de Mirra, 6 . Trámite Policía: "Toma de Huellas "
2. You must bring the following documents to the police station at C/Campo de Mirra, 6 with an appointment.:
   
   • Application form
   • Passport.
   • Copies of the pages of your passport containing your personal details and visa.
   • A passport-size photo with a white background.
   • One of this documents: Contract/letter from the mobility office/paid “Matrícula”.
   • Certificate of "Empadronamiento” census registration (optional, but recommended for long stay).
   • Document 790 012 corresponding to the administration fee of 16,08 €. You must take this form to any Spanish bank and pay the corresponding fee before submitting your application. IMPORTANT: IT´S NOT POSSIBLE TO PAY ONLINE! The bank will stamp this document as proof of payment and you must present it together with the rest of the documents listed here.    •         You must click on; ".TIE que documenta la primera concesión de la autorización de residencia temporal, de estancia o para trabajadores transfronterizos".
